Mandarin-Berry Steak Salad

Ingredients 3⁄4 lb. beef sirloin steak 1 tsp. salt, divided 1⁄4 tsp. pepper 3 Tbsp. olive oil 1⁄4 cup cider vinegar 1⁄4 cup orange juice 2 Tbsp. minced fresh parsley 2 Tbsp. honey 1 garlic clove, minced 1 tsp.chili sauce 8 cups torn romaine 3 cups sliced fresh strawberries 1 small red onion, sliced 1 can (11 oz.) mandarin oranges, drained 1⁄2 cup chopped pecans, toasted 2 oz. fresh goat cheese, crumbled
Directions
- Slide the Grill Plate into Shelf Position 6. Turn the Function Dial to Grill, set the temperature to 450° and set the timer to 25 minutes. Preheat the grill for 10 minutes. Sprinkle steak with 1⁄2 tsp. salt and pepper.
- When the grill has preheated, place the steak on Grill Plate. Cook until the desired doneness is reached (5-6 minutes per side for medium). Let rest 5 minutes before slicing.
- Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk the oil, vinegar, juice, parsley, honey, garlic, chili sauce and remaining 1⁄2 tsp. salt; set aside. Divide romaine among 4 plates; top with steak, strawberries, onion, oranges, pecans and cheese. Serve with vinaigrette.
Eric’s Tip: Insert a straw into the berry’s tip and push the hull through the other end to save some fruit!
